CHÂTEAU MAREIL
Château Mareil is located on the gravelly hilltops with limestone subsoil of Ordonnac between Saint-Seurin de Cadourne and Saint-Yzans de Médoc, which dominate the Gironde between the Potensac and Loudenne castles. This cru has been classified Cru Bourgenois since 2006 and has since been renewed in its classification. For four years François Brun has taken the direction of limiting the dosage of sulfur in his wines in order to intensify the aromatic richness and the coloring intensity. The vintage is monitored by Etienne Pélissié, an expert oenologist from the Médoc. Aromas of currants, nutmeg and walnuts follow through to a full body with creamy tanins and a slightly tannic finish. But it only needssome bottle age to soften and come together. Nicely crafted for the appellation.
