Black Slate

This plot selection, a new cuvée of the estate, reveals the complexity of the terroirs of Faugères. Here the vines grow up on blue schist have been vinified together, producing a wine with a colorful robe and carmine highlights. The nose reveals the terroir with aromas of flint, bitter cocoa and garrigue. The mouth develops with simplicity and modernity: black fruits, minerality, cistus. It is a remarkable wine by its freshness and its length in mouth. We can also add to these qualities an obvious ageing potential. To be served with a rib of beef with candied shallots, a pork sauté with olives or more simply a fricassee of mushrooms.
